Acrylic on Canvas

Just like lighting a candle using another candle, faith can be passed on from one person to another simply through physical contact, so I have been told. But what happens when the candles eventually stop fueling each other? They must burn out. The fate of a candle is within the flame, you can’t begin to light the other candles in the world if you can’t fuel your fire. It can be exhausting providing the only life support for your flame; losing faith even for a moment can weaken you and take you down a dark path where your flame isn’t strong enough to show you the path back to your faith. Desperation and hopelessness sets in as you wait for some higher power to show you a sign that a change is going to come and relieve you of this exhaustion. The only response you receive is silence, and all your allegiance and belief befall and eventually yours becomes burnt out faith.
